MANAGEMENT TEAM TAKES FULL OWNERSHIP OF TOORANK

Toorank’s management team has officially taken the reins of the company this week.

In a new era for the international drinks company, Toorank, CEO Natal da Graça and CCO, Henny Tadema have taken ownership control of the company as Toon Blij retires from the board.

Natal da Graça comments: “Toorank is an international company with a family heritage, Henny and myself see ourselves as the next generation taking over from Toon who’s built a commendable legacy. Toorank has seen times of change over the last couple of years but we are now steadier than ever. We continue building on its 40 years’ experience and I am very impressed with the quality and competence of our team. We have a clear vision and plan, which our team is united behind – the future is looking good”.

Toorank produces spirits and other alcoholic products for an extensive list of over 300 challenger, third party, and private label brands. The new owners will be looking to fine tune and emphasise this part of the business, which is known as a producer of impeccable quality liquids. Toorank’s own brands will continue to be nurtured, such as the newly packaged Sloane’s Premium Dry Gin. In addition, there will be further investment across the portfolio, including a new look for Coppa Cocktails, which received very positive reviews at this year’s ProWein.

Since former owner Toon Blij bought Toorank from Metaxa in 1990, the business has grown to become a truly global player and now trades in over 50 markets worldwide, driven by its renown for producing award-winning spirits.

Da Graça, who has been CEO since January 2018, will remain responsible for the operational side of the business. He added: “Henny is an industry veteran bringing solid experience from Heineken, Seagram’s and Red Bull, we share the same values and vision for Toorank and are ready to confidently lead it into its next chapter”.

Henny Tadema, COO, says: “We’ve been preparing for this management buyout for some time and the response from customers who have known has been reassuringly encouraging. Our customers and our colleagues, as ever, remain our primary focus. I am proud and delighted to continue working with Natal toward building Toorank’s vision – there is much more to come”
